Like mentioned in the previous post on Flickr sign in issues this is a post in English in a Dutch blog trying to get some attention for necessary fixing from the owners.

Yesterday I received a message on my Skype.
Someone was trying to get in contact with me. It was Jojanneke van den Bosch.

She wanted to contact me in relation to the job opening on Blogads.nl.

So I confirmed the message and started typing a short message under the assumption that she just sent that request. Because I reacted right away.

But she replied with a tone that made it quite clear that something had gone wrong.
The problem: she sent that request for contact on Skype about 4 weeks ago. 4 weeks!

Skype please look into this issue. Or was this a one time hickup?
Looking on Skype’s forum I found something:

I was under the impression that once I’ve sent a chat to an offline recipient, that it will be delivered when he signs in, even if I sign out before he signs on. Is this the case or am I wrong (I thought this was possible because of interim storage in the Skype peer to peer network. Because I seem to get messages very late from someone who is signed off before I sign on, I’m guessing I was wrong about my assumption, but don’t find anywhere to read up on it. Can anyone tell me?

Then a somewhat strange reply from the moderator:

You are wrong.
Both users MUST be on line at same time for messages to be delivered.
They are stored locally on senders PC waiting for the recipient to log on.

Is Craig wrong? Or is the setup just wrong?
I can’t imagine that Jojanneke and myself were not online at the same time any day before yesterday.

This is definitely not what I expected. Sometimes I do send a message to someone that is according to the status icon away or not online. Just because I have a feeling that the status of Skype displays is not always correct.

I feel this is broken. How do you feel about this?

Jojanneke also wrote a post on this issue [in Dutch].
