Now 2 posts in English. My first and possibly last posts in English on this blog since it is a Dutch blog. But the problems that I have found on these two issues need to get a little bit more attention. Maybe it is just me, maybe not.

Update 8 May: It is just me. An email arrived yesterday explaining that this Flickr account is connected to another Yahoo account. I forgot. Sorry. Thank you Flickr for your support!

Ok, last week I was able to purchase a laptop from the money that I earned with adds on my blogs. So than you need to install all kind of software. But also with all the sites that you use you need to find and enter login names and passwords.

One site I have been using more intense lately is Flickr.com. So I wanted to upload some new photo’s to my account from my laptop. And that’s where my problems started.

So you go to your Flickr.com page and click Sign in

Then you are directed to Yahoo’s sign in page:

Here I remembered my login and password.
Then there is a screen that you will have connect your Flickr account to your Yahoo account.

At that point you need your Flickr login name and password. I have tried several that I use.

It is not safe to use one name and one password for all the services that you use. So I vary them somewhat. Also when there is a password provided by the service, I often keep it. And with an email you get a confirmation from your login and/or password. Or you can request it with the famous link ‘forgot your password’, so no problem. Right?

Wrong.
I don’t remember the password for Flickr. I scanned all my mail looking for it, but not there.
Using the ‘forgot your password’ brings me back to the Yahoo account. But I already know that password.

Ok trying the old skool method, see picture above.

Please Note: On March 15th March 20th, 2007 we’ll be discontinuing the old email-based Flickr sign in system. From that point on, everyone will have to use a Yahoo! ID to sign in to Flickr.

And then I get this message after entering my email address and password.

The email address “ehannink@eadhome.nl” is tied to a Yahoo! account. Please sign in through Yahoo!

My account on Flickr is ernohannink and guess what my account is on Yahoo….
Yes, ernohannink.

So, then there is also a message. That you can create a new account. But it is not possible to use the same ID.
I remember that I started 2 years ago with a different name on Flickr ‘trendgevoelig’
So after struggling for an hour I made a fatal? mistake.
I connected a new account ‘trendgevoelig’ to my Yahoo account.
So there it happened. A new completely empty account to my Yahoo ID.

So there you have it. A completely new account on Flickr. And one existing account that I can’t get in.
What to do? Who has the answer. I want to get into my existing account ernohannink on Flickr.

Flickr please help your users to clean this mess up.
Or I am I the first and only one finding myself in this mess?
Of course it must just be me.
Still, I would like to get some help here.

OpenID my be a solution for this for me
