Uit onderzoek van Ad Age blijkt dat bijna 50% van de marketing executives van de Fortune 500 bedrijven dit jaar hun online budgetten met 30% te verhogen.

Twee opvallende punten uit het onderzoek:

  • According to Heath Terry, research analyst at Credit Suisse, consumers are now spending a whopping 30% of their media time online (while some of this time no doubt is shared with other media in the form of simultaneous media consumption, it is beyond significant for any marketer that gives a continental hoot about fishing where the fish are…)
  • Online’s share of the entire ad market (as defined by local, classified, yellow pages…etc) is only 5% and is expected to rise to 6.5% this year (so there’s a clear gap between where the money is and where it should be…that said, when one factors in local, yellow pages and classified, that kind of reads like a slot machine jackpot featuring 3 Google logos)
